A major announcement after training last night, with news that senior captain Sam Kassianou is to be awarded life membership of the club.

Life membership is the highest recognition of service to the club, and is reserved for those who have particularly distinguished themselves through the length or significant nature of their service. Of the thousands of players and officials that have made up the club across our 98-year history, Sam is just the 101st have been awarded life membership.

Sam first joined Mulgrave back in 2010 as a colts player, after playing his junior football at Waverley Park Hawks and Glen Waverley Rovers. He has gone on to play over 160 games in the reserves and seniors since, becoming a major figure at the club both on and off the field. In addition to playing, Sam has spent several years on the club committee and been the driving force behind many major social functions. He was appointed senior captain in 2022.

Please join us in congratulating Sam on this major achievement. He’s an extremely deserving recipient and admired by all at Mulgrave for the way he conducts himself and the leadership he shows.

Sam will be presented with his life membership prior to tomorrow’s senior game at home against Boronia, at around 1pm. All welcome.
