COVID-19 update: July 16 2020

By Scott Davidson | Thursday, July 16th 2020

Welcome back to lockdown... I do hope we all enjoy our own company, as it's going to get a fair workout.

Thanks to all the players that the footy department were able to find for a quick chat about what we should plan regarding training and practice matches. Apologies to those we did not get to within the timelines. Most were in favour (subject to work), and all said they were IN on any of the social activities we could get away.

The intent to start training on July 30th has now had a line put through it due to the lockdown. All metropolitan football leagues have now put a line through the season for senior and junior clubs.

We will continue to work on options in the event that regulations allow us to engage in some practice matches in September, but the reality of that happening is not high.

What we now have to do is look at our social events and determine how we can manage the big ticket items like the $5K Draw in a way that remains safe, within government guidelines and still fun to participate in.

We'll keep you posted.

With another six weeks of lockdown, if anyone is hurting and unclear of the road ahead and how they are going to get to the other side, please reach out to the Club. In the end, football is only an excuse to get a quality group of people together that share common interests and values.

If you need help, give me a call and we will work something out. It's what the Club is here for.
